Message from the Chair. Karen F. Berman

Dear Colleagues,

First let me thank you for the privilege of serving as your Chair over this past year.  I was honored to have the opportunity to take part in many ground-breaking initiatives during my term – the most memorable of which was to lead the first-ever OHBM strategic planning meeting last February in Geneva, Switzerland.  Working alongside others who share a commitment and enthusiasm for the future of human brain mapping, many ideas were generated that will help shape the types of information and interaction OHBM members receive in and out of the Annual Meeting.  You will have the chance to hear the results of this discussion at the Town Hall Forum being held on Wednesday, June 17th at 17:15H.

At the 2014 Town Hall Forum, OHBM’s Committee on Best Practices in Data Analysis and Sharing (COBIDAS) was introduced.  This year, the Committee will discuss the results of their work seeking input from members on a statement that has been developed on Best Practices in Data Analysis and Sharing in Neuroimaging using MRI.  The Town Hall Forum will also feature an update on the successful launch of OHBM Regional Chapters and Special Interest Groups, an introduction of the newly elected members to the Council and an announcement of upcoming Annual Meeting venues.

The Town Hall Forum is a top source for the latest breaking news and commentary on issues impacting the neuroimaging community and your member organization.  It is also an opportunity for you to voice your opinions and questions to the Council which helps shape future agendas.

Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your leader at a pivotal time in the growth of OHBM.  I look forward to working with Karl Zilles, as he assumes the role of Chair, and the rest of the Council as they continue to build on a strategic vision for OHBM.

Sincerely,

Karen F. Berman, MD
OHBM Chair

Thank you for your continued support of OHBM.  If you have any questions or ideas you would like to share, please send them to info@humanbrainmapping.org
